Concept
Nestled amidst the bustling metropolis of Seoul, Dream Island occupies a distinctive physical and historical position on the serene Han River. Floating gracefully in the river's midst, this ethereal island materializes as a captivating vision—a cloud-like sanctuary that harmoniously connects with the surrounding cityscape. A tangible dream, accessible to all who yearn to partake in a collective experience of music, arts, and nature's beauty.
Within the gentle embrace of these symbolic clouds, couples will find an idyllic haven to meander through meticulously curated gardens, while seekers of tranquility will discover respite from the city's vibrant pulse. Clouds hold profound significance in Korean culture, seamlessly interwoven into traditional paintings that embody principles of sustainability, adaptability, and endurance. Just as clouds are integral to the ecosystem, sustaining life itself, Dream Island, with its subtle presence, completes the delicate equilibrium of the local culture—a harmonious fusion akin to the eternal dance of yin and yang.

Design Agenda
We seek to establish a meaningful cultural and social symbol that reflects the quickly transforming environment and the emerging diverse cultural paradigms of Seoul. It is imperative to consider a formal architectural framework that amplifies the multitude of values essential to Seoul's present and future urban culture. This approach embodies an anti-iconic narrative (the anticon), wherein a rich tapestry of varied forms facilitates a diverse range of spatial platforms, seamlessly integrating with the island, surrounding riverfront, and the city at large.
This design encompasses a series of meticulously crafted indoor and outdoor spaces, designed to foster a deep connection with nature while simultaneously honoring its preservation. This proposal re-establishes a harmonious contextual relationship with the majestic Han River, enriching the overall experience and offering a compelling narrative that resonates with visitors and locals alike.
New Perimeter
The outer edge of the island is transformed to re-establish it's contextual relationships by providing a variety of multi-functional stepped curricular nodes. These Garden Nodes are placed throughout the island becoming social, private, observational spaces.
